Cold Pressed
After doing more research on the negative effects certain oils have (vegetable oil, canola oil, sunflower, safflower, grape seed oil to name a few) on the body and how they are processed to even become an oil, I chose to start looking at different options. I literally had a full bottle of canola in my kitchen and threw it away.
I’ve even spoke to a highly reputable registered dietician I work with and just the mention of vegetable oils, canola oil etc made them shriek and highly recommend to get rid of.
That being said choosing cold press oils and juices and the better option I chose to try Avocado oil as a new healthy option for myself and family. Not only can it be used in many ways but I am exploring to use it on my salads. It’s not bad at all! I look to do a hybrid of 100% Avocado oil and balsamic vinaigrette on my salad soon. The balsamic I was using was a mixture of canola oil, safflower and other oils and sugars. I never actually took the time to read the ingredients other than know it was balsamic vinaigrette.
With that being said choosing cold press oils and/or juices are the better option than how oils or foods are processed using other methods. Why? It retains all of the vital nutrients, vitamins, minerals, enzymes, that come from the whole food.
Here is an illustration using Juice that has been cold pressed and the benefits. Same would go for cold press oils.
