Health & Fit Tip
Have you ever followed or heard someone say they are following the 80/20 rule?
It’s a principal used to allow balance in the nutritional aspect of your journey without having to compromise.
When it comes to nutrition, which most struggle to find a happy medium, it seems like you there is no light at the end of the tunnel.
The 80% is described as the healthy and supportive volume of food you would eat every day that offer the vitamins/nutrients that your body would need. ( whole grains, fruits, vegetables, protein and dairy). The 20% Refers to the not so supportive foods that moreso meet your emotional needs, that wouldn’t be considered “healthier options” (alcohol, sweets, artificial flavored etc).
A lot of people have seen success in following this principle because it allows them to focus on what they need to do to give them selves the support they need but at the same time, give leniency.
Whatever kind of rule/principle you may follow just remember make sure it has balance and not restrictive to the point where it takes all of your energy and time. Whatever you can stay consistent with that is flexible and supportive to your lifestyle then that’s the direction you want to maintain!
