Within the past couple weeks my daughter has made the remark “Mommy, you work so hard, and I want to help you”
THAT…just makes my heart melt, especially knowing that she is only 5 years old!! That also freshly reminds me that our kids observe very attentively. I try to live my life, as a parent, with modeling habits that will help build a strong foundation for my children.
Everything that I as a parent stay consistent with in doing day in and day out, shows my children that its of importance to me: Keeping a clean house, eating healthy foods, fitness, training clients, showing love and care etc.
On another separate occasion, my daughter asked, “Mommy, why do you work so hard” and my response was”So that Mommy and Daddy can provide for what our babies need!”
With that being said, this video shows just how much habits, we as parents , portray in our children’s lives. I was sitting at the kitchen island, just ready to partake in the delicious salad you see. This little girl, without a word, began cleaning the dishes and did it cheerfully. She was so focused. She had NO CLUE I was capturing this moment.
I just sat and watched my baby clean the dishes her way, with confidence and joy. She made Mommy so proud.
Its moments like this that lets you know you are doing something right.
“Our character is basically a composite of our habits. Because they are consistent, often unconscious patterns, they constantly, daily, express our character.” ―Stephen Covey
