When going through an fitness program make sure you include not only anterior chain movements, but also posterior chain movements as well. Why? Our body becomes accustomed to our daily activities, regular movements, therefore, the muscles used the most are our strengths. But the muscles most commonly neglected, weakest, start to compensate and pull from other muscles for help just to keep up with any movements you make.
I hear a lot of people say they are either very strong in their legs or arms due to using them more than the other, therefore they are weak in other areas.
Push/Pull, Vertical and Horizontal movements are all important to include in any fitness regime to ensure you are conditioning your total body and not focusing heavily on just one area.
